Now in it’s second season, here is a recap of the Once Upon A Time season finale.

* * * * * *

Tamara shot Mr. Gold’s son/Henry’s biological father, Neal (Michael Raymond-James), and he fell through a portal. Mary Margaret and David broke the news to him, and surprisingly, Mr. Gold shows a range of emotions.

Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) actually blames himself, saying he essentially slayed his son by bringing magic into Storybrooke.

* * * * * *

Tamara (Sonequa Martin-Green), Greg (Ethan Embry) and Captain Hook now have access to the “trigger” (which looks like an oversized dark cubic zirconia) that can destroy everyone not born in the real world. Why don’t they just cut the jewel up and make a necklace and a pair of earrings – my version of lemonade, my friends.

* * * * * *

Team Good Guys find Regina (Lana Parilla), who admits that she lost the trigger and that she’s sorry for all that she’s done.

“I tried to be the person you wanted me to be and I failed,” Regina admits to Henry.

“I love you,” she says.

“I love you too,” the boy replies.

Everyone realizes that if the trigger is activated, Henry (Jared Gilmore) will be the only person left in Storybrooke. Could be nice, Henry. No curfew.

Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) joins the group. But is he really up to any good?

* * * * * *

David and Hook head out to the boats, where Tamara and her crew have been hiding the whole time.

David sees Greg and demands the beans. Then there’s a dramatic shoot-out between David and Hook and Greg and Tamara. The later escape.

* * * * * *

Regina and Emma (Jennifer Morrison) are alone with each other, in search for the trigger as well. Regina reveals that in order to take down the trigger, she will likely lose her life. It requires too much power.

Will it be enough power to kill our wicked-but-somewhat-reformed-Queen?

Kind of explains her dramatic encounter to her adoptive son.

It was her final goodbye.

* * * * * *

Mr. Gold is handed a potion that is supposed to restore Belle’s (Emile de Ravin) memory.

But will he give the potion to her?

The new Belle, aka Lacey, seems to love Mr. Gold’s naughty ways. Yet, Gold fell in love with the nice girl who loved books.

It’s really a no-brainer. He gives it to her to drink, not fully informing her of its power.

She drinks it, and immediately knows who she is. And she still loves him.

* * * * * *

David (Josh Dallas) comes to the café, revealing to all that they have the magic beans, but Regina will die.

The town asks to save Regina by sending the trigger down the portal, saving Regina and keeping the family together.

Emma (Jennifer Morrison) doesn’t want to risk it, but Mary Margaret (Ginner Goodwin) insists.

Hook, however, isn’t on board and tries to snag the beans. Emma argues with him, and he demands, “Why do you want to do this?”

Emma: Because Henry already lost his father today. He can’t lose a mother too.

Hook: Who was his father?

Emma: Neal/Baelfire.

* * * * * *

Emma, Mary Margaret, Henry and David go to rescue Regina.

However, that dastardly Hook puts a halt to their plans. The portal is no longer with them.

Regina doesn’t have enough power.

Emma realizes, though, that maybe she and Regina have enough power to contain the trigger.

Funny, why doesn’t she and Mr. Gold join Regina? They three have power of this capability.

Anyway, Emma and Regina are able to take down the trigger and they save Storybrooke.

During the blast, Tamara and Greg abduct Henry, as they realize that the boy is what connects the town – it’s their best path to control. They escape with him through a portal to Neverland.

The group has no way to get Henry.

Well played.

And I guess Hook isn’t exactly the jerk that he seems.

He brings the portal he stole back to the group. Regina, Mary Margaret, Emma, David and Hook now are going to Neverland to find Henry.

Poor Mr. Gold has to abandon Belle to save his grandson… after being reunited with her for a final moment.

But as the end of the show reveals, Henry may actually be hunted by another fairy tale character, Peter Pan.
